I study quantitative marketing, with particular focus on the Motion Picture Industry. I recently completed my dissertation, entitled "Models of Competition in the United States Motion Picture Industry". My dissertation committee members were Vrinda Kadiyali (chair - Marketing), Sachin Gupta (Marketing), Jeffrey Prince (Applied Economics and Management) and Nicholas Kiefer (Economics and Statistics).

My thesis consisted of three essays. Essay 1 (currently being revised for second round review at Journal of Marketing Research) develops a forecasting model for weekly revenue of a particular movie in multiple distribution channels. Essay 2 (job market paper) studies the evolution of DVD release date and price announcements. Essay 3 describes a model for the managing the format transition from VHS to DVD. Currently I am working on the three essays, developing them into different papers to be submitted to research journals. I anticipate posting these papers on SSRN, as and when they are ready for circulation. Please contact me (am253@cornell.edu) for preliminary drafts. Also, most of my work is joint with Vrinda Kadiyali, who was my mentor and adviser in the doctoral program. You can find some of our drafts on her webpage.
